So this year I’m all about saving money and getting the best deals on everything I buy. I’ve canceled all the services that I don’t use and even the ones I used once in a blue moon including Netflix. That saved me about $75 a month. I switched from Sprint to Verizon for my cell phone service. Saved me about $60 a month. I sold my 2010 Ford Fusion that I was making payments on and last year bought another 2000 Dodge Durango SLT+ 4×4. I love it! I traded my old one in on the Fusion two  years ago and missed her so much. My Rango serves a dual purpose. She gets me to work everyday and gets me through the snow in the winter. I also started unplugging everything in my townhouse that I don’t use. Yes, it’s a pain in the rear to have to plug things in every time you want to use it, but in the long run it has saved me about $45 a month on my electric bill. Cha-Ching!

In 2015 I signed up for eBates,
which I had heard about from some television commercial. It’s one of those commercials where it shoppers getting rebate checks back in the mail and so much cash, blah, blah, blah, right. So of course, Iskepticaltical, but I decided that I’d give it a try. I signed up, then a few days later I bought an item on Staples.com (I’d actually completely forgotten about even joining ebates at the time.) While searching through some old bookmarks that I may or may not have saved for writing research, I saw the Ebates link. I clicked it and logged into my ebates account. The first thing that popped up was a small form asking about my purchase at Staples and that I earned money on that purchase. I couldn’t believe it.

Now in my head when I first checked out Ebates, I thought it would be a few pennies here and there for each purchase. Well it’s a lot more than pennies. I saved $9.13 on my Staples purchase and they gave me $5.00 just for signing up. I was like O.M.G. no way! Yes, I understand it’s only $14.13 that I get back in November, but I have only purchased one item so far. But I was still a little iffy on it thinking well I’ll never see a check from them. So I waited and come November 16, 2015 I received a check in the mail for $14.13. Now I receive much larger checks in the mail.

Ebates sends out checks four times a year and have special deals with stores on a daily basis. I can’t wait to start my shopping and earn some cash back! If you want to sign up Click Here.
